East park to West park

This is a cycling trip that starts at East Coast Park and ends at West Coast Park. It is a mix of PC and road trip.

The trip started with a bit of miscommunication. The organizer did not leave a contact number. I was not sure of the group as I am joining them first time. At the stipulated time, there is no group gathering at the starting point. I waited for 15 minutes and just set off alone after that.

There isn't much to take picture on at East Coast Park as well as Ford Rd and Tanjong Rhu Rd. Only in Marina Bay East then I can see some plants worth taking picture.

The first one is beside the toilet. It is a Alpinia purpurata 'Double Red'.
Beside the ginger plant is a Cola de Paloma.
In the same area is Sawah Lettuce.
Right opposite the toilet is a Yellow Cestrum.
Not far away is a Rattleweed.
Going further down and there is this Blood red trumpet tree.
Another red hot plant is the Red Hot Cat's Tail。
Right below the plant is Zigzag Plant. It is supposed to be white but due to the sun shine, it is yellowish.
Along the river you can see this Red Snakeweed.
The white and yellow Alder grows besides each other.

Don't miss the Philippine stripped violet.
You can always walk through this fountain at the Bay West.
I can't find the name of this plant.
This reddish flower is a Angelonia angustifolia 'Balangdaros'.
This nice Bugle lily is besides the enclosure.
The Mexican stonecrop have a soft look.
The Angel wing jasmine has more than usual number of petals than normal jasmine.
Another plant that I failed to find its name.
Along this stretch are dry soil plants. This Mombasa cycad is one such plant.
The Variegated Caribbean Agave took up a lot of space.
Vriesea platynema var. flava' has purple tips. Not very visible on this picture.
Unfortunately this Vriesea ;Charlotte' flower is dying already. It will be a nice yellow color when it blooms.
Dyckia microcalyx looks thorny. Its flower is also small.
Agave salmiana may look sickish but it is like that.
Another of the Variesea plant that has prominent purple tip.
Another Agave (Agave americana var. marginata).
This sculpture was recently erected. It is a Love and Peace flower (poppy) sculpture by Ana Tzarev. Took this picture from a distance.
By now the actual cycling group (with recumbents) has reached the same place. I could find the group because there are four recumbent cyclists. Three other were on road bikes.Joined them to continue the route.

This is not a real plant although it is still organic (made of ratan).
Since I am with a group, it is not easy to stop and take pictures unless the whole group stops. The group only stopped at the new circular cycling path near Pandan Garden PC. This is currently the only overhead bridge that you could cycle across without having to pay $1000 fine.
After Pandan Garden PC, we turn back in the direction of the city and go on the PC at West Coast Highway till we reach West Coast Park. By now only 5 person left. Two recumbents and three road bike. The rest have dropped off along the way.

For this trip, it wouldn't be possible to stop and take so many pictures. Thanks to the miscommunication, I am able to take that many pictures and still be able to catch up with the group. The trip is about 30 KM.

The WikiLoc route map is here.
